Chadia Garyeazon is a dedicated third grade teacher at Southern Elementary School with 10 years of experience in education, including eight years in Colonial School District. She began her journey in education in 2017 after earning her associate degree in Early Childhood Education from Delaware Technical Community College. That same year, she joined Colonial as a paraeducator at Colwyck in the Colonial Early Education Program.
Chadia continued to grow in her career while pursuing her education, becoming a third grade teacher in 2021 as she completed her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a K–12 Special Education certification from Wilmington University in 2022. She went on to earn her master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University in 2023 and further expanded her credentials by becoming certified to teach Secondary English in 2026.
Chadia is passionate about creating a classroom environment where students feel safe, valued, and excited to learn. She believes that meeting students’ emotional needs is essential to their success and makes it a priority to build strong, supportive relationships with each child. Through daily connections, active listening, and a caring presence, she fosters a classroom culture where students feel respected and empowered.
Her teaching approach centers on meeting students where they are and providing multiple pathways for learning. Whether through music, hands-on experiences, outdoor lessons, or differentiated instruction, Chadia ensures that all learners can access and engage with the curriculum in meaningful ways. She encourages her students to take risks, ask questions, and embrace mistakes as part of the learning process, reinforcing their rights as learners and building confidence and resilience.
Chadia embodies the “Power of WE” by showing up each day ready to support her students and colleagues with a bold, inclusive, and authentic mindset. She embraces new ideas and challenges, advocates for equity in learning, and brings her genuine personality into the classroom to build strong connections with her students. Her goal is to create a community where every child feels they belong and has the tools to thrive.
Originally from the Bronx, New York, Chadia is a proud wife and mother who enjoys music and dancing in her free time. Her love for children and passion for education continue to drive her work each day.
Chadia’s mission as an educator is to inspire students to believe in themselves, take risks, and grow into confident, capable learners—because as she reminds them, “You won’t know until you try.”
